Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great popularity with her stories she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift's love for music started in the early years of her life. From musicals for kids to appearing in front of crowds, Swift made rapid progress. Swift was just 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. Following that Swift began to write songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift composed original music inspired by the country music of artists such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks) as well as Dixie Chicks. Her material was a reflection of Swift's experiences as a tween and the feeling of alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania to move to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could devote more of her time in courting the country music labels in nearby Nashville.
